Each of its two independent channels can charge or balance at up to 25A and 500W, providing fast and efficient charging across both outputs. When a Gens Ace G-Tech battery is connected, the charger automatically detects the battery type and cell count via the G-Tech Smart Balance Connector and applies the manufacturer's recommended charging current. This ensures safe, optimal charging without the need for manual input. For non-G-Tech batteries, users can connect a standard balance lead to the D1000 PLUS's balance port, manually select the battery chemistry and operating mode, and rely on the charger's intelligent detection to determine the appropriate charge rate.
The user interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through menus and settings with confidence. A 3.5-inch LCD screen provides sharp, legible information in all lighting conditions, while four navigation buttons located beside the display allow users to adjust parameters quickly. Both battery channels are displayed simultaneously, and users can toggle between them using the CH/Back button to configure each independently. The compact design minimizes space requirements on your workbench or in your travel case, and it includes a convenient power button-allowing it to remain plugged in while preserving internal components when not in use, much like a home appliance. Bluetooth connectivity designed into the D1000 Plus allows you to connect to your mobile device via the Gens Ace app (that can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play Store). Once connected it seamlessly integrates with the G-Tech Smart System allowing users to access detailed real-time data and historical records anytime as well as allowing for remote control of the D1000 Plus. In addition to this the app can be used to update the D1000 Plus firmware when new versions are released making it simpler to keep your charger up to date.
Firmware updates are easily performed via the USB port located on the side of the unit. This powered port also offers the convenience of charging external devices, such as smartphones or LED desk lamps, while the charger remains operational. Included with the D1000 PLUS are a mains power cable, two XT90 to XT60-T plug adapters, two XT90 to EC5 adapters, two XT60 to T-plug adapters, and a USB cable. A Smart chip is embedded into the balance connector that enables intelligent interconnection and communication between the G-Tech battery and the smart charger regarding battery information.
The user interface is large, intuitive and easy to navigate. Menu, field selection and channel selection are all controlled using the push buttons to the right of the screen providing positive feedback whilst in use.
The G-Tech balance port design allows for both G-Tech batteries and standard balance lead type batteries to be used. This means the D1000 is the perfect dual output charger for all battery types.
Unlike most chargers on the market, the D1000 features an on/off button that allows you to power the charger off and leave plugged in at the wall.
The USB port located on the left hand side of the unit is for periodic updates to the charger firmware. Simply connect the charger to your desktop/laptop computer using the provided lead and update using the software downloaded direct from the Gens Ace website.
Considering the power of the D1000, the charger is compact, lightweight and features a carry handle for ease of transport that folds away neatly and easily when in use.
Keep your batteries in optimal condition for when you know you wont be using them for a period of time. This setting charges/discharges the pack to an optimal level ensuring the longevity and performance of the pack are kept to optimal levels.
The D1000 can be turned into a power supply by selecting the DigitalPower function, allowing you to power things like tyre warmers and soldering irons.
Once the parameters have been set, this mode allows you to charge and discharge a battery. This mode enables a thorough check of the battery performance, as well as a check of the status of a battery that has not been used in a while.
