The HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been scaled down from some of the most popular trainer aircraft ever designed to make learning to fly RC airplanes easy and fun! Its ultra-micro size makes it the perfect choice for a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, soccer fields, football fields and other suitable spaces where larger models can't typically be flown successfully by first-time pilots. Featuring a more "traditional" trainer design, it's also been optimized to offer STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) capabilities like the iconic E-flite Timber series models. The brushless power system is compatible with common and affordable 2S 300mAh batteries, and also gives it the power to fly in wind that other ultra-micro and mini-class trainer models can't typically handle (up to 5 mph). That power, combined with the taildragger landing gear and oversized tyres, gives it the ability to take off almost immediately from paved, dirt, gravel, and even the grass surfaces found at many parks and sports fields. The advanced EPO construction is lightweight yet incredibly durable, and the removable wing makes transport, storage, and replacement as convenient as possible. Full 4-channel control plus SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology with Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes makes it easy to learn to fly successfully and to advance into performing aerobatics including loops, rolls, and even inverted (upside down) flight at the flip of a switch!

From the Spektrum SLT6 2.4GHz controller/transmitter you can use with other Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic aircraft compatible with SLT FHSS technology (future availability) after you learn to fly, to the 2S 300mAh rechargeable LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery and a convenient USB-C charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to buy! A BNF Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own. And for both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless motor, ESC, dual-protocol (DSMX/DSM2 and SLT FHSS) receiver, and servos are all factory-installed in the durable EPO airframe that's nearly ready to fly right out of the box. Simply install the wing using the included thumbscrews and you can be flying in minutes - no glue or tools are required!

Ready-To-Fly Convenience
This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a controller/transmitter equipped with Spektrum SLT 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly including AA batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for the airplane, and a USB-C charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy so you can fly! The included transmitter can also be used with other ultra-micro/UMX (Ultra Micro eXtreme) Bind-N-Fly (BNF) RC aircraft equipped with dual-protocol receivers featuring SLT FHSS technology (future availability). Plus it can be used with the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator!

Uniquely Optimized
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been scaled down from the popular Apprentice 1.5m and 1.2m models, yet has also been designed to offer STOL capabilities similar to E-flite Timber series models. It's "ultra-micro" sized to be more affordable and convenient for more people to fly in more places and smaller spaces - from gardens and parks to sports fields and beyond!
Brushless Power
The factory-installed brushless outrunner motor is compatible with affordable and common 2S 300mAh rechargeable Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries. It's more powerful and efficient than brushed motors, which gives the Apprentice STOL S the power to fly in winds that other ultra-micro and mini-class trainer models can't typically handle (up to 5 mph).
Capable Gear
The oversized tyres and steerable tailwheel make it possible to taxi, take off from and land on a variety of surfaces that are impossible for most models of this size to handle. From the grass surfaces found at many parks and sports fields, to gravel paths and paved surfaces.
Durable Design
Construction with advanced EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that's tough enough to handle everyday flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. Easy Assembly
The Apprentice STOL S arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, servos and receiver installed. All you need to do is slide the landing gear into the fuselage then install the wing using two convenient thumbscrews and you'll be ready to fly within minutes of opening the box - no glue or tools required!
