On the MZ-24 there are a number of ways to enable flaps/flaperons on an aircraft model type.

Basic flap mixing is available as standard with a 2 aileron model, but for more advanced mixing or proportional flaps/flaperons, a model type with flaps will need to be selected (e.g. 2Ailerons and 1 Flap) in order to enable the advance flap features.

Basic Flaperons

  1. On the Function Menu, press 'Flap set'
  2. Toggle the ACT from INH to ON
  3. Press CTL and move the desired switch (e.g. S4)
  4. Toggle the bottom OFF to ON to make the flaps active in the switch down position.
  5. Press back to return to the Flap Set settings.
  6. Move the selected switch to the flaps down position and the ACT will show as ON.
  7. Highlight the 000% on Aileron 1 and press DEC to decrease this percentage to about -50%, which will cause the left aileron to drop.
  8. Highlight the 000% on Aileron 2 and press DEC to decrease this percentage to the same as Aileron 1.

To enable Airbrakes or to have a second flaperon position, select the 'Airbrake' function and perform the same as above.
  1. On the Function Menu, press 'Airbrake'
  2. Toggle the ACT from INH to ON
  3. Press CTL and move the desired switch (e.g. S4)
  4. Toggle the middle OFF to ON to make the Airbrakes/flaps active in the middle switch position.
  5. Press back to return to the Flap Set settings.
  6. Move the selected switch to the middle position and the ACT will show as ON.
  7. Highlight the 000% on Aileron 1 and press DEC to decrease this percentage to about -25%, which will cause the left aileron to drop.
  8. Highlight the 000% on Aileron 2 and press DEC to decrease this percentage to the same as Aileron 1.

To enable more advanced flap mixing or proportional flaperons, the wing type must be one that includes flaps (even if you don't have a separate flap servo)
  1. In the Basic menu, select 'CH Set'.
  2. On Channel 6 (Flaps) press 'NONE', then move the switch, slider or knob to assign the flaps to that control.
  3. On the Function Menu, press 'Flap set'
  4. Toggle the ACT from INH to ON
  5. If you want to override the flap position with an On/Off switch, then Press CTL and move the desired switch (e.g. S4) and assign the On position for the switch/control.
  6. In the 'Flap Set' function the Up (Rate A) and Down (Rate B) positions for each Aileron can be set. N.b. Don't worry about the ailerons coming upwards (Rate A), as a Sub Trim can be applied to the Ailerons later.
  7. Pressing the 'Next' button then allows any individual flap positions to be set.
